Has God ever asked you to hide yourself in Him to endure a hard season? Have you ever wondered the purpose for it? It's to prepare you for something greater from Him. Something good. Something that you can't even wrap your head around. This piece is all about how after being under the shadow of the Almighty for endless days that this exact place of great victory has been won. When you look at this work you can see a history of other paintings underneath. The thing is though, they are really all part of this finished piece, nothing from the previous going to waste, all building to create what is now known. The previous renditions had themes of longing for more, seeking the joy of summertime, enduring a fire that threatened to burn everything down to the ground, only being rescued by the heavens opening up and saving a remnant of people with a deluge of rain. And so here we are at a new place, the place of all of that trial finally at its end, a place of overwhelming victory. From a place of small beginnings to actually rising above. You see, these flowers have been nurtured in the dark of night, somehow growing by a supernatural source, and now it is finally sunrise. At last they are coming into their own with their joyous faces turning up to the sky. They are rising above the tallest man made structures, more than ready for what comes next. They will outlast the storm that is on the horizon. They will no doubt endure it for they will only bend, not break with the wind. And I feel like God is saying today, "Finish it."
"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; My God in Him I will trust'" -Psalm 91:1, NKJV.
"Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let's rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let's run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." - Hebrews 12:1-3, NASB.
"And let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." - James 1:4, NASB.
“This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” – John 6:29
"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”- Romans 10:9-10
Keep stretching your hands out to God dear hearts. Pour your heart out like a waterfall to Him. The road has surely been rough, but we are mighty in Him. Praise you Jesus. You did it all.
