Saturation - 36"x36", Mixed media on canvas, Elise Ehrenholz ©2024.
I'm adding a new feature to my website today. I'm adding art, my art. I'm adding it because as they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Art impacts us on such an intuitive level! I
paint, the kind one does on canvas, and not on walls, well not usually. When I embark on the creative process I'm listening to worship music and I feel God's presence fill the room. I feel His Presence in such profound ways. It's a kind of communion if you will and sometimes that breaks me down in all the best ways possible. I feel all the feels if you know what I mean, and they are good. Spontaneous weeping and full body tingles like God is opening a momentary window from Heaven that pours out its supernatural sparkle over me. My art room becomes like a sanctuary and I feel God so close to me. Such a deep connection. And that's why this painting and others like it will be featured, because they bring a word of encouragement in their own special way. For art transcends borders, politics, language, gender and experiences and gets right to the heart of who we truly are as human beings. We especially need that now. The world is trending toward chaos, but there is more than what we see, more goodness from God to grab a hold of because He is the same, yesterday, today and forever. There is always more goodness from Him in the land of the living to behold because He is His own resource. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. I want to encourage you today above all things that you are unconditionally loved by the One who made the heavens and the earth. And that's where we need to start with God, to embracing who He really is. That's where we need to start with this painting, truly that's the heart of it. Unconditional love and relationship with the One who made it all. Relationship that is not earned but accepted as a gift because of the blood of Jesus. That is so beautiful and it keeps coming to us as a gift and not as something that is held over our heads as some kind of horrible reminder of how we have failed for the Word says in Hebrews 10:17, "And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more. "No more. That's quite a statement. What an uncommon starting place that is, brand new before God. Not offered in any other way it opens doors to us that those who have not yet discovered His goodness and life will not have access to. It all flows from there as we step into it and press into life with the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the undeniable first step. And while that sounds challenging it's absolutely true that once you enter through the narrow gate of the gospel that life really opens up to you. You begin to become the person you were meant to be as you press on in your journey with God. Such vibrancy of life to be found on the other side of that decision that you didn't realize was available to you. There is an uncommon saturation of it. That's what this painting is all about. Fullness of life. Life lived truly to the hilt. Like Neon. Glowing brighter than any darkness around it, beckoning those who see it to question, to ponder, to come closer, and to enter in through that unconventional ancient of days door. And who do we become then when we enter into all of this? Forgiven blessed children of God, mighty oaks of righteousness that have everlasting joy. Do you see the tree in this painting? It's an oak tree which represents who we are all called to be. Oak trees that all started with a mustard seed of faith. Do you want more of God in your life? There's a power button right there. Just press it with your finger on the screen. It's your prophetic act that tells God you need Him so very much and that you want all of Him in your life. There's no time like the present. As one who has been walking with God for over 25 years through the hills and valleys of life I can honestly tell you that the walk isn't going to be an easy one, but it will be entirely worth it.
And I feel like God is saying today, "It's time to power up."
"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified....Instead of your shame you shall have double honour, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion; therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs." - Isaiah 61: 1-3, 7.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." - John 3:16, 17.
"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."Romans 10:9-10
"This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent." - John 6:29
Keep stretching your hands out to God dear hearts. Pour your heart out like a waterfall to Him. The road has surely been rough, but we are mighty in Him. Praise you Jesus. You did it all.
